It's fitting that Schneider Associates' specialty is launching new products and services, as it felt like a great place to launch a career in public relations and marketing. As a Social Media Intern, I worked directly with the Social Media Coordinator, the agency's top management and all of the in-house professionals, all of whom were warm and eager to have interns help. The best aspects of the internship are its incredible team of hardworking, skilled individuals with varying areas of expertise. The internal public relations and corporate culture at SA is cohesive and inclusive. Interns are encouraged to join the SA team from the get-go, and are given a variety of tasks by their respective supervisors depending on the field.
Tasks performed included a lot of office work: mailing letters, FedExing, printing materials, creating binders, etc. Other tasks included auxiliary work for clients, such as helping to create PowerPoints, typing up presentation notes, clipping, etc; things which let me be ...

I really enjoyed interning at Schneider. Everyone in the office is really friendly and accessible to address any questions you may have. I really learned a lot about the basics in PR and just in everyday office workings. I would recommend this internship.

SA gave me insight into the world of PR... and I hated it. Most (not all) of the people there were rude, and thought very highly of themselves. The younger account coordinators were helpful, and tried to give interns real world tasks. However, senior account executives and VPs sent interns (including myself) on coffee runs in the pouring rain! Now I understand that as interns you shouldn't expect too much, but I certainly didn't expect to be treated like a slave. Tasks were mundane, scanning newspapers for "relevant" information and making phone lists were the highlights ...
